Motorcycle Training Courses

Chris O'Brien offers motorbike lessons in Wexford and south-east Ireland. Training courses are available for riders of all levels - complete beginners, riders preparing for their motorcycle test and advanced riders who wish to improve their skills and safety on the road.

School bikes are available.

Our training is highly structured to ensure you gain the maximum knowledge and skill level.

Beginners Motorbike Lessons

If you are interested in learning how to ride a bike we give structured, systematic skills lessons that build your controls skills and confidence.

These lessons are done in an off road area away from roads and traffic.

Compulsory Basic Training

The Road Safety Authority is introducing a compulsory motorcycle training course for all new riders. (If you already have a provisional licence you are not affected).

New riders must successfully complete the course before they can ride on their own on the public road.

The course consists of classroom and practical tuition to develop riding skills in a safe environment.

Motorcycle Test Preparation

This course of instruction will prepare you for your motorcycle licence test. It is divided into two hour modules, each covering specific training needs:

  • Moving off & stopping, observations and slow manoeuvering
  • Braking and use of speed
  • Left turns, right turns and cornering
  • Observation, anticipation and hazard management

New Season Refresher Course

If you have had your bike laid up during the winter months then it's a sure bet that you're a trifle rusty as well!

Intermediate & Advanced Level Training

This course prepares the rider for the I.A.M. Advanced Test and ROSPA Advanced Test.
It includes the AON/AXA Bike Care Assessment and Quinn Direct Insurance Assessment.
The modules cover the following training:

  • Speed
  • Acceleration and hazard management

Chris O' Brien has been training motorcyclists for twelve years. He is based in County Wexford.

He is a registered instructor with the I.R.T.A and I.D.I.R., and is an AON Bike Care Assessor and Quinn Direct Rider Skills Insurance Assessor.
